ARMEN-LEVON MANASERYAN, piano
Armen-Levon Manaseryan was born in Yerevan into a family of musicians. His musical talent became evident from an early age. At the age of six he was accepted into the piano class of Professor Shushanik Babayan at the Tchaikovsky School of Specialized Music.
Armen-Levon continued his piano performance studies at the Komitas State Conservatory in Armenia and graduated with a bachelor’s and master’s degree with the highest honors under the tutelage of Professor Sergei Sarajev. He continued his training at the Royal Conservatory of Liege, Belgium, with teachers, pianist and conductor Etienne Rappe and François Thiry. He is currently studying at the Musikhochschule Münster (Germany) with Professor Heribert Koch.
Armen-Levon has won medals and prizes in numerous national and international competitions, including: First Prize and Memorial Medal at the FLAME International Competition (Paris, France, 2006); First prize and trophy at the ninth “Nice Côte d'Azur International Piano Concourse” (Nice, France 2016); First prize, trophy and special prize: CD recording with “KNS Classical” at the 5th “Valletta International PIANO Competition 2017” (Valletta, Malta 2017); among many others.
His excellent performances have been praised by renowned pianists such as: Michel Béroff, Frederick Rzewski, Balázs Szokolay, Paul-André Bempéchat, Yoko Nanno, Irina Osipova, Ivan Urvalov, Chuel-Woo Bae, Michele Gioiosa, Kirill Kashunin, Djuro Tikvica, Françoise Chaffiaud , Yury Martynov, Marisse Huizing, Alexander Khazanov, Sergey Glavatskih and Jerome Rose.
Professors Heribert Koch (Germany) and Joseph Paratore (Italy / USA) have had a great influence on his development and establishment as a young pianist.
As an accompanist and chamber musician, he has collaborated with the State Woodwind Symphony Orchestra in the Armenian Philharmonic Hall and the National Opera and Ballet Theater .
He was a member of the jury of "Thank you, Master!" International competition for young pianists in Brussels, as well as member of the Alink - Argerich Foundation Worldwide Piano Competition (2017), member of the jury of "MUSIC AND STARS AWARDS ", an online classical music competition. (2020 and 2021).
Armen-Levon is the founder of the “Art Next To Kids” charity art project for children with special needs and autism.
Armen-Levon has given many recitals as a solo pianist and chamber musician in Armenia, the Russian Federation, France, Germany, Kazakhstan, Austria, Belgium, Spain, Bulgaria, Italy, Poland, Malta, Portugal and other countries. His musical repertoire always features music representative of his Armenian roots, which he proudly performs in various concert halls in Europe.
He recorded his first CD "Color Of Sound" with the famous record label "KNS CLASSICAL". The CD includes "Piano Dances" by Armenian composer Komitas and "Paintings in an Exhibition" by Mussorgsky. The brochure also includes Armen-Levon Manaseryan’s 10 own paintings based on impressions of Mussorgsky’s music.
Armen-Levon teaches frequently and teaches piano at the Musikschule “Emotio” in Cologne and Bonn, Germany.
