RIJEKA PIANO TRIO
The Rijeka Piano Trio was founded in 2016 on the initiative of Filip Fak, Krunoslav Marić and Vid Veljak, musicians who received their initial musical training in Rijeka and who, in addition to an intense artistic collaboration, share a long friendship.

The Rijeka Piano Trio is the longest-running and most active ensemble of its kind in Croatia, and this year it celebrates its tenth anniversary of uninterrupted activity. Its members have extensive experience in both chamber music and solo performances. Filip Fak is an associate professor at the Zagreb Academy of Music and conductor of the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra. He is also president of the Croatian Society of Musical Artists. Krunoslav Marić is a member of the Zagreb Soloists and president of the board of directors of this artistic organization. He is also a violin professor at the Vatroslav Lisinski School of Music in Zagreb. Vid Veljak is an assistant cello professor at the Split Academy of Arts and is actively involved as a contemporary music performer.

The trio gave its inaugural concert in October 2016 at the Italian Community Hall in Rijeka. After this particularly successful concert, the ensemble embarked on a tour of China, performing in seven cities, including Beijing and Shanghai, where it gave critically acclaimed performances.

In addition to the aforementioned concerts, the Rijeka Piano Trio has performed in Zagreb, at the Osor Musical Evenings festival and in numerous other cities in Croatia. The ensemble regularly performs in Rijeka, especially at the Italian Community Hall, the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral and the Croatian National Theatre Ivan pl. Zajc.

One of the most notable performances of the ensemble took place in March 2022 as part of the "Lisinski Saturday" concert series at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall, where they performed works by Gustav Mahler with great success, with the participation of the renowned Croatian mezzo-soprano Renata Pokupić as a guest artist. The trio also participated in a concert dedicated to Marko Ruždjak organized by the Croatian Society of Composers.

The Rijeka Piano Trio performed at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival in August 2024 and participated again at the Osor Musical Evenings in August 2025. In parallel with these commitments, the ensemble continues to develop intense concert activity in Croatia and abroad.

In addition to performing works from the international repertoire, the Rijeka Piano Trio devotes special attention to the performance of compositions by Croatian composers.
