Nit clandestina: Wine night at Sant Pere de Rodes: 9 september
In 1798 the monks could flee Sant Pere de Rodes on one condition: they should destroy the monastery to prevent it becoming a nest for smugglers.
At the time, Cape of Creus was covered in vineyards and, at night, its beaches witnessed boats setting sail full of wine. Smuggling lived with treasure hunters, drawn by the legends about riches hidden by the monks.
This visit will discover this clandestine past of Sant Pere de Rodes and the Cape of Creus, accompanied by a tasting of the wines that talk about this land of smugglers and thieves.
In collaboration with Consell Regulador de la Denominació d’Origen Empordà and Ruta del Vi del Patronat Turisme Costa Brava de Girona.
